OMTEC Event is Cancelled

OMTEC 2021 Has Been Cancelled

Dear Colleague,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of next year’s OMTEC, due to take place June 15-17, 2021.

As many of you know, our June 2020 event was also cancelled. After 15 years of uniting the orthopedic product development community, the loss of two consecutive events brings enormous disappointment and sadness—not only to me personally, but to your entire OMTEC team.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly. Two overriding concerns have caused us to make this decision at this time.

First is the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 virus, which is affecting large gatherings, travel, orthopedic procedure volumes, company performance and your priorities, just to name a few.

Second is the responsibility we feel toward you. We could never put your health and safety at risk. Furthermore, we could never embark upon an initiative where your return on investment was in doubt. We’ve never accepted a dollar we haven’t earned, and we don’t plan to start now.

Where do we go from here?

  • In cooperation with our Advisory Board, we’re building ~30 education sessions (aka, webinars) to address topics ranging from market forecasts to smart manufacturing to product development and leadership skills. These will be produced and published to this website on or before June 7, 2021.
  • We’ll continue the tradition of bringing you high-level, future-oriented Keynote Addresses in the form of two live webinars to be held June 16 and 17, 2021.
  • The Supplier Directory, utilized by orthopedic OEMs for two decades, is presently receiving significant improvements to its interface and user experience and will be unveiled in the Spring of 2021. The Supplier Directory will serve as OMTEC’s online marketplace.
  • We plan to gather for OMTEC in 2022, June 14-16 at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. We’ll make formal announcements mid-year 2021.

Please know that OMTEC’s mission remains unchanged: to educate, connect and empower the people who build orthopedic products.

Thank you for your support, guidance, trust and friendship. We wish you and yours continued good health and prosperity and remain, very truly, at your service.

Most sincerely,
April C. Bright | General Manager
