Innovation in orthopaedics is linked to the adoption of new materials and new manufacturing processes for established materials. Matt Poggie is Senior Vice President of Research & Development and Chief Technology Officer at Acuitive Technologies, focusing on new product development and managing the engineering and research staff. Prior to joining Acuitive Technologies in 2015, Mr. Poggie held key positions in R&D at Stryker Orthopaedics for 25 years. Mr. Poggie serves as an OMTEC Adivsory Board Member.


Adam Griebel is a Senior Research & Development Engineer at Fort Wayne Metals, a supplier of wire and bar products to the medical industry. In this role, Mr. Griebel has worked in a wide range of alloy systems and product forms; most recently, his attention has been focused on absorbable metals such as magnesium. His work encompasses the full spectrum of materials development, from custom alloy development and metalworking to application-specific assessments and IP strategies. 

Jobe Piemme is Chief Technology Officer at Praxis Technology, where he oversees business and product development. Jobe led the validation and commercialization of the porous titanium manufacturing line which was cleared by FDA in 2008 and the titanium MIM manufacturing line launched in 2014. Praxis i a Tier 1 contract manufacturer and has relationships with OEMs in orthopaedics, spinal, vascular access and cardiac rhythm management markets in the U.S.

Balaji Prabhu is Head of Orthopaedic & Cardiovascular Materials at Evonik Corporation. He leads the innovation of incremental and transformational materials and technology for use in orthopaedic and cardiovascular applications and is based in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to
Evonik, he held various positions from concept to commercialization in R&D, pilot scale and global operations at Stryker Orthopaedics. 

Jeff Tyber is Founder, President and CEO of Tyber Medical. Mr. Tyber has worked in the orthopaedic medical industry for over 12 years in product development, research and management roles. Mr. Tyber most recently was the first employee and R&D Manager for Extremity Medical, a start-up company.
