The presentation will cover a variety of topics related to the critical cleaning and sterile packaging of medical implants and instruments. We plan to discuss material and design considerations, material composition challenges, cleaning considerations, cleaning challenges and ways to manage manufacturing considerations and cost. The presentation will offer the point of view of two packaging suppliers.

Dwyer 200x200James Dwyer joined Millstone Medical Outsourcing in 2017. Prior to joining Millstone, James held leadership roles at Mangar, CR Bard and Johnson & Johnson. James is a Certified Packaging Professional with over 25 years of experience in medical device engineering and operations. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Florida International University.




White2 200x200Ben White is the Engineering Manager for Business Development at Millstone Medical Outsourcing. Mr. White has been with Millstone for four years, with responsibility for Quality and Validation Engineering. Through partnerships with top orthopaedic companies, his team stands at the forefront of industry regulations regarding sterile packaging, end of line cleaning and sterilization. Prior to Millstone, Mr. White served as a life sciences researcher with Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University where he focused on genotyping, plasmid amplification and immunohistochemistry.


Bushnell 200x200Peter Bushnell is the Midwest Regional Manager for Placon. Mr. Bushnell has worked in the medical manufacturing industry for 14 years, including eight with Medtronic at their Spinal Manufacturing facility in Warsaw, Indiana and six with Placon selling medical packaging. Previous to that, Mr. Bushnell spent five years in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Field Artillery. He has an MBA from Indiana University and resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
