China’s orthopaedic market was ~$3 billion in 2016 and is on track to double in scale every five years, with no signs of let up as the government drives its Healthy China 2030 agenda. The dynamics in orthopaedics are nonetheless challenging for multinational manufacturers, and the field of play is constantly changing. Among the challenges that multinational manufacturers face are intensified competition from domestic companies, downward pricing and regulatory shifts in the supply chain. This session will bring participants up to speed on the latest sweep of changes seen through the eyes of an experienced medtech specialist who is based in China.

Attendee Takeaways

  1. Overview of China market
  2. Understanding of the regulatory landscape, including changes made in the last year
  3. Understanding of commercial and go-to-market dynamics in China’s orthopaedic marketplace
