“The Voice of the Customer” has been the driving force behind ORTHOWORLD’s offerings since its founding in 1992. In fact, BONEZONE and later OMTEC were each created in direct response to the manufacturing challenges faced by orthopaedic device company professionals. In that spirit, the Industry Advisory Board was created in 2005 to formalize the channel through which the issues of the day could be communicated and prioritized for action.
More than a decade since the board’s inception, orthopaedic device commercialization continues to escalate in complexity. Executive management, engineers, and supply chain and regulatory professionals are called upon to contribute meaningfully and communicate effectively outside of their departments. Today, and into the foreseeable future, versatility, high capacity, and sound judgment are as crucial to a successful commercialization process as technical skills. Advisory Board Members lend weight and perspective to these ever-changing business dynamics by giving accounts of their firsthand experiences — what’s working and what isn’t — and by identifying the knowledge gaps and sources of untapped opportunity.
